BIDs face budget holes from unpaid taxes

Property owners in the District owe $520,761 in overdue taxes to the city’s eight Business Improvement Districts, the nonprofit groups that provide enhanced cleaning and marketing services to eight areas in D.C., The Washington Post reported.
The debts amount to 10 to 20 percent of some organizations’ budgets.
